How can I make the most out of the time I have left today?
Sunday, July 19th, 2026
In 2008, Airbnb was struggling to survive. The idea was interesting, but the business was not working. People were listing their homes, but bookings were slow, trust was low, and the photos on the site made many of the spaces look unappealing.
The founders could have spent their time building more features, debating strategy, or waiting for a perfect growth plan. Instead, they made a simple decision: use the time they had to get closer to the problem.
They flew to New York, visited hosts in person, listened to their concerns, and helped take better photos of their listings. It was not scalable. It was not glamorous. It was not the kind of work people usually imagine when they think about building a technology company.
But it mattered.
By using the time in front of them to do the next useful thing, they learned what their customers needed, improved the product, and created momentum. Those small actions helped Airbnb move from a struggling idea to a company that changed how people travel.
Sometimes we waste the time we have left in a day because we convince ourselves it is not enough. Not enough to finish the project. Not enough to solve the problem. Not enough to make meaningful progress.
But the question is not always, “Can I finish everything?”
Sometimes the better question is, “What is the highest-value move I can still make today?”
The time left today may not be enough to complete the whole journey, but it is enough to take one intentional step. Possibility grows when we stop waiting for perfect conditions and use the hours we have with purpose.
